Vintage Art Nouveau Poster - The Kiss

I have a gorgeous classic art nouveau poster for you today by William H. Bradley, the highest paid American artist of the early 20th century. Born in Boston Bradley was considered the foremost illustrator and designer of art nouveau posters and was a prolific artist and designer up until his death in 1962 at the age of 94.

Vintage Paisley Designs

Most people probably associate paisley designs with the 1960's and 1970's or the Summer of Love and the psychedelic style. Actually it was the Beatles that brought the paisley design back to the west after their pilgrimage to India in 1968. Who knew?

A paisley pattern is defined as a droplet shaped vegetable pattern or as a twisted tear drop motif and is Iranian and East Indian in origin. The modern name associated with the motif comes from the town of Paisley in Scotland.
