Usually, toile printed cloth depicts pastoral scenes so these two toile prints seemed unusual and I wanted to share them with you.
This French Provincial Toile de Jouy print is entitled, "Love leads them away - friendship brings them back". In the French language Toile de Jouy literally means "cloth from Jouy-en-Josas", a town in northern France. Toile simply means cloth. So this first image comes to us from the French town of Jouy and was a roller print on cotton fabric. I just think it is so sweet.
