Vintage Hotel Mason in Jacksonville, Florida
The Hotel Mason was built in 1912 and sat on the corner of Bay and Julia Streets. It had 250 rooms and had a cafe on the top floor overlooking the St. James River.
In 1950 the Hotel Mason became the Hotel Mayflower and boasted that every room had a private bathroom, radio, air conditioning and a rooftop lounge. In 1978 the Mayflower and other buildings on the block were demolished to make room for the Southern Bell Tower.
