It's that time of year when I day dream of going somewhere exotic and different. I have come to love vintage travel posters and this one is no exception.
The illustrator of this 1927 poster is Mario Borgoni. Amalfi is a town in the Salermo Province of Italy and was a favorite destination of the British elite in the 1920's and 1930's and remains an important tourist destination today with its dramatic cliffs and coastline. Amalfi has a long history of catering to tourists and converted two monasteries into hotels for visitors. Medieval Amalfi was considered the center for studies of law and mathematics.
I hope you enjoy this fantastic vintage poster!
