Victorian Vignette
Interior design and decoration during the Victorian era was all about ornamentation. A plain room was in poor taste during this period so every surface was filled. The parlor was the most important room in the home and where guests were entertained.
The Victorian era had no particular furniture style of its own but rather borrowed from styles of other eras and modified them. Wallpapers of elaborate floral motifs usually in primary colors adorned the walls and embossed papers were used on the ceilings.
