Free Vintage Clip Art - Vintage Easter Eggs

Vintage Easter Eggs

The egg is a pagan symbol of rebirth and was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the resurrection of Christ.

The House of Faberge made thousands of jeweled eggs from 1885 to 1917.  The majority of these eggs were miniatures that could be worn around the neck.  The most famous Faberge eggs were commissioned by Alexander III and Nicholas II of Russia.  Of the 50 eggs commissioned 42 have survived.  These eggs were made from heavy metal or stone and decorated with enamel and gemstones.  These eggs are regarded as masterpieces of jewelers art.

Well I don't have anything as grand as a Faberge egg to offer you but here are a couple of images of vintage eggs.
