Free Vintage Clip Art - Vintage Mandel Brothers Poster

Frocks for the Flapper
Mandel Brothers Poster

Mandel Brothers, a Chicago department store, was founded in 1855.  The store burned down twice and even survived the Great Depression.  Annual sales revenue grew and hit an all time high of 36.3 million dollars in 1948.  But despite renovations and improvements to the store sales declined after 1948 as more and more Chicagoans moved out of the city and into the suburbs.

In 1960 Weiboldt Stores bought Mandel Brothers for 2.75 million dollars and stock transfers.

Here is a poster for Mandel Brothers store from the 1920's.
