Vintage Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom
Today I am bringing you the official Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom! Of course, in honor of the Royal Wedding.
These arms are used by the Queen in her official capacity as monarch of the United Kingdom.
This coat of arms was adopted in 1837. It features a crowned golden lion standing on a royal crown. The shield is divided into quarters representing: England, Scotland, Ireland with England being represented twice. A golden lion and a silver unicorn hold the shield.
The motto is written in French: Dieu et mn droit Literally meaning: God and my right.
This coat of arms is used on all acts of Parliment, UK passports and on the backs of sterling pound coins.
