The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears uses the "literary rule of three"  with three chairs, three bowls of porridge, three beds and three bears.  There is also three discoveries that someone has been eating their porridge, sitting in their chairs and lying in their beds.  The third time that Goldilocks tries the chairs, the porridge or the beds she finds them "just right" in that the first time she tries something its wrong, the second time is wrong in the opposite way and only the third time is "just right".

The "Goldilocks Principle"  is the idea that the way forward lies in finding the exact middle between two opposites.  This concept also applies to astronomy and economics!  Who knew?  A Goldilocks planet, for instance, is neither too far nor too close to a star to sustain life.

Enjoy!
