Palm trees are actually considered flowering plants and there are about 2600 species of them. The use of palm trees by humans is about as old as the palm tree itself. Palm trees are mentioned more than 30 times in the Bible. Products from the palm tree include coconuts, oils, dates, palm syrup, ivory nuts, wax, rattan cane and palm wood.
