Free Vintage Clip Art - Vintage FAP Posters

Wow Blogger's been down a long time!

Vintage Federal Art Project Posters

The Federal Art Project (FAP) was the visual arts division of the Federal Works Administraion (WPA) during the Great Depression.  Between 1935 and 1943 over 200,000 posters, murals and paintings were created and some of the works still stand as some of the most significant public art in the country.

The program's primary goal was to employ out of work artists to create art for schools, hospitals and libraries.  Jackson Pollock was among the artists supported by the project.

This poster was created by Arlington Gregg in 1939

Aren't they wonderful?  My favorite is the pet show.  These could definitely be printed and framed.  And what conversation pieces they would make!

Enjoy!
