The earliest production of wine happened about 8,000 years ago in the country known today as Georgia and about 6,000 years ago in Armenia.  There is also evidence that the Chinese mixed rice with grapes to create a wine about 7,000 to 8,000 years ago.

As of 2006 Italy exported the most wine and France produced the most wine and also consumed the most wine.

Did you Know?

Bugs Bunny made his debut on this date in 1938 in Porky Pig's Hare Hunt.  Supposedly Bugs' loud carrot chewing was based on Clark Gable's loud carrot chewing in the movie It Happened One Night in 1934.

Free Vintage Clip Art - Vintage Auld Lang Syne Banner

Vintage Auld Lang Syne Banner

Auld Lang Syne is a Scottish poem written by Robert Burns in 1788.  The English translation literally means "old long since."

It quickly became a Scottish tradition to sing the song on New Year's Eve and that tradition spread throughout the British Isles.  As European's emigrated to the US they brought the song and it's tradition with them.
The Canadian band leader, Guy Lombardo, began using the song on his popular radio broadcast on New Year's Eve in 1929 and the song became his trademark.

I hope you enjoy this lovely banner.

This style of drawing is referred to as "Spencerian Drawing" and was actually used as an exercise to practice calligraphy, the decorative art of handwriting.  These little drawings were a way for the student to practice makng their p's and q's.
The most well known calligraphy instructor was Platt Rogers Spencer and we now know his method of teaching the art of calligraphy as Spencerian drawing.

I hope you enjoy these images and can find a way to use them !
