Have you heard the amazing story of actress Eugenie Blair?
Eugenie Blair died in Chicago on May 13th, 1922 backstage at the Cort Theater. Eugenie Blair was ill before going on stage but rather than call in her understudy she stuck to her part. After the final curtain fell Eugenie sat down in a chair backstage, asked for water and died.
Eugenie had complained after the first act of a tremendous pain in her head but refused a doctor and having her understudy stand in for her. Eugenie Blair was 50 years old.
